Ordered my Tourer in August and have an estimated delivery time of Mid-Jan. Reading the post on indefinite delays on cars with the sunroof, now wondering if that has now passed and folks are getting theirs delivered?

Just had a note to say delivery now moved from Mid January to Mid March...ridiculous given I ordered in August!

That worries me as I ordered mine in November and delivery estimate has slipped from mid to late March, hoping mine does not get delayed as much as yours ! That said I have not spec's a sun roof.

Another note to say end March. I wondered if it was the sunroof but given you’ve not spec’d it, looks like just VW being crap.

I guess sacking 1000s of people and closing a bunch of factories doesn’t help delivery times….considering cancelling at the minute if I’m honest.

I ordered mine through lease company in November with an indicated delivery date at the end of March. Once a dealer had accepted the quote they immediately went to a mid-march estimate date which I was happy with. Last week it slipped right another week to late March. Contacted the dealer this week and they tell me it is arriving in port and could be deliverable by the end of the month !

Any update to lead times. I currently have a build date of week 13 and delivery mid May

Generally from build date to customer handover can be around 3-4 weeks. Once built (couple of days for build and QA), it then has to be taken to the port and wait for a ship. Ships sail a couple of times a week, but there'll be all kinds of VW Group cars on there, and you can only get so many on a boat at a time, so sometimes a car can wait around for a bit at the port until it's able to be loaded. Then a couple of days for the ship to get from Germany to the UK. Once docked, the cars are unloaded and then have to pass customs checks. Each car needs to be checked against the manifest to confirm it is what the ship was meant to be importing, and also checked for smuggling etc. Obviously if a ship offloads 1000 cars, it can take a day or two for the customs chaps to get round all of them. Finally once released from customs, the dealership that ordered it needs to arrange collection of the vehicle and transportation to their premises (ironically this bit can take over a week for some dealerships, especially if they're a long way from the ports VW use). Finally the dealership will need to carry out the post-delivery procedures (removal of protective coverings, suspension blocks, setting up various software things, fixing on number plates etc). And eventually they'll call the customer/lease company to arrange handover

I'm trying to work out when to order my ID.7 GTX Tourer (with sunroof) so that I'm not paying for two cars for too long, hence keeping an eye on this thread

Ordered my iD.7 Tourer GTX with all the add-ons before Xmas and got the dealer provided date of 24 March just around Christmas time.... that seemed acceptable, 12 weeks-ish...
Then on Friday 14th March, 10 days before expected delivery, my lease company gave my bi-monthly update with a new date of 31st May !! over 2 months extra

Reason was no 'Factory build date'

Pretty rubbish - I've had 2x Tourans and a Golf that were all spot on first date - I wonder if it is a knock-on from the strikes or a panoramic roof issue as some have stated...either way, very frustrating
