Hi all,
I received this update today.
Hopefully not long to go.

That’s somewhat encouraging, thanks for posting this.
I’m not sure reaching out to my dealer is worth a shot after the dismal handover of my car. I had to teach myself how to access all its functions. Luckily I was moving from an ID.3, so I wasn’t a total newbie.

That sounds promising that it could be a activated at some point. My Tourer has been into VW today to check the 12v battery and wiring is ok. All good. I showed them the above email and they added the query to the job sheet along with the easy open boot sensor and passive lock/unlock features LHD models have. They investigated and said none of those features are available on RHD ID.7s. There's no TPS articles on their system for any of those things. I challenged the boot sensor as it's listed on the spec sheet in the VW app and she just said it's not on RHD vehicles. We knew that so no further ahead with Park Assist Pro, Easy open boot sensor of passive unlock.

After three weeks of emails and phone calls to Volkswagen they just called me and apologised for the inaccurate information Vuyani Peter has supplied a couple of comments above regarding Park Assist Pro rolling out to UK vehicles. They advised the non customer facing technical department within VW have confirmed Park Assist Pro remote parking is 'ready' as stated on the UK VW website assist pack page but it is not currently being rolled out in the UK and will not be considered until legislation changes to allow this. I immediately challenged this advising the UK Kia EV range has remote parking but all she said she could do was feed this back to the technical department so I assume they can come up with a different excuse.

On a similar point what are the best ways and apps to control the car and charging or is it a combination of smart charger, VW Connect App and your energy provider.

Can all be a bit confusing.

Id the We Connect a thing of the past as keep seeing it being referred to by ID drivers but then also have mention of the VW App

I set my charging times up on the cars infotainment screen to charge "at home" and
at "preferred times" which I have set as midnight to 5am as these are my cheap rate times.
Then I just plug the car in and leave it. This works perfectly.

Depends on your energy supplier. eg Octopus want to control the car, so you need to leave the car & smart charger to charge anytime, and Octopus will set times to suit them, whilst guaranteeing whatever departure time you select.
If you just want to charge off-peak, the car's & charger's timers both work well & as David-R says are plug & forget.

Gutted by a glitch in this simple App process. My 4 week old ID7 Pro Tourer has had an error since day 1 which cannot be resolved. "Clean Front Sensors" and it depicts the inside passenger side on the front bumper.

I guess this stops the automated app from linking to the vehicle, so in the interim I shall watch the parking from within. Unless someone knows how to bypass this sensor issue?

Sounds like your VW Dealership should be replacing the dud sensor.

Got the sensor changed today. Still can’t get the Parking Plus to work?
It’ll park itself with me at the wheel, but I’d like to try the remote app for parking.
